Face painting · West Wyalong & the Bland Shire
I'm Stella. I paint faces at birthday parties, fetes and school events around West Wyalong. Bright colours, gentle brushes, and a queue that actually keeps moving.
Texting is easiest. Send the date, the time and how many kids, and I'll come back with a yes and a price.
Most face painting goes wrong for one reason: too many kids, not enough time, and a queue of six-year-olds who've stopped being patient. So book by the clock, not by hope.
Rough guide → about 12–15 faces an hour.
The look book
These are the ones that get requested at every single party. If your birthday kid is set on something else (a favourite character, a footy team, a pet), tell me when you book and I'll practise it beforehand.
These are illustrations of my designs. Real party photos are going up here as soon as I have permission from the mums and dads to share them.
No surprises
Prices include everything: paint, glitter, gems, my table and chairs, and setting up before the kids arrive. No extra charge for the mess.

Start to finish
Date, start time, roughly how many kids and where it is. That's genuinely all I need.
Takes you 30 secondsUsually the same day. If I'm already booked I'll say so straight away rather than leave you hanging.
Same day, most daysTable, chairs, paints and mirror all set up in a shady spot before the first kid arrives.
15 min before startI keep an eye on the queue so no one misses out, and I'll do touch-ups after the cake if there's time left.
Pay me on the dayWho's holding the brush
I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, and it turns out the best canvas is a kid who can't sit still.
I started doing this for family parties and it grew from there. I'm local to West Wyalong, I use proper cosmetic-grade face paint that washes off with soap and water, and I actually like the chaos of a birthday party, which I'm told is unusual.
If your child is nervous, tell me when I arrive. I'll paint a little butterfly on their hand first and let them decide. It works nearly every time.

The things mums ask me
I only use cosmetic-grade, water-based face paint made for skin, the same brands professional painters use. It's not craft paint or acrylic. If your child has sensitive skin, eczema or a known allergy, tell me before we start and I'll do a small test patch on their arm first, or paint on their hand or arm instead of their face.
Warm water, a bit of soap and a face washer. Go gently around the eyes. Baby wipes work in a pinch but a proper wash is better. Glitter is the stubborn bit. It might hang around until the second wash, which children generally consider a bonus.
All afternoon, easily. It survives cake, running around and a jumping castle. It does not survive a swimming pool. If there's a pool at the party, tell me and I'll suggest designs that hold up better, or we'll paint after the swim.
A shady spot out of direct sun and wind, and somewhere the queue can stand without being in the way of the food table. I bring my own table, chairs, mirror, paints and water. I don't need power.
I'll paint under a verandah, a marquee or inside. I just need a bit of light. If the whole party gets called off, move the booking to another date at no cost. I'd rather that than take money for a washed-out party.
That's completely normal and I never push. I'll offer a design on their hand or arm instead. Nine times out of ten they watch their friends for twenty minutes and then come back.
Usually yes, if you tell me when you book so I can practise. Send me a picture of what they want. I'll be honest with you if it's beyond me rather than have a disappointed birthday kid.
Two to three weeks is comfortable. Weekends in spring and the run-up to Christmas fill up fastest, and school fete season is busy. Last-minute is always worth a text. Sometimes I'm free.
Text me the date, the time and how many kids. I'll tell you if I'm free and what it'll cost, usually the same day. No deposit, no forms, no back and forth.
